- Minimum of 60 units; no more than 60 units can be required
- Minimum 18 units in a major
- Must follow Transfer Model Curriculum (TMC)
- General Education limited to Cal-GETC
- Chancellor’s Office approved and transcripted
- Complete the program proposal and attach and all applicable documentation with your
program proposal in META
- The narrative is no longer a separate document - all narrative questions are now included in the META program proposal cover page.

- 16+ units must be submitted to Chancellor’s Office
- Local or Career Education Goals

- 8–15.5 units can be submitted to the Chancellor’s Office (not required, but recommended)
- Chancellor’s Office approved and transcripted

- Not to be confused with “local” degrees/certificates
- Cannot be named certificate of achievement, competency, or completion.
- Must be under 16 units
- Experimental/short-term/fast response to industry or local need
- Not eligible for financial aid
- Not Chancellor’s Office approved, not transcripted
- Noncredit Certificate of Competency
- A sequence of 2 or more noncredit courses coded ESL or Elementary & Secondary Basic Skills
- Noncredit Certificate of Completion
- A sequence of 2 or more noncredit courses coded Short-term Vocational or Workforce Preparation

- When submitting your noncredit certificate in META, complete and attach the Noncredit Certificate of Competency narrative or Noncredit Certificate of Completion narrative.
