At Santa Monica College, we prioritize a comprehensive approach to onboarding, ensuring that every new member feels supported and equipped to thrive. Our commitment to onboarding extends beyond initial interactions, by fostering a culture of continuous development, recognition and retention. Our managers are expected to take ownership of the onboarding process, by welcoming new hires, familiarizing them with our culture, and ensuring they have the necessary tools and resources to succeed in their new roles. The Department of Human Resources is here to support our managers because together we provide a best in class onboarding experience which results in greater job satisfaction, boosts productivity and increases employee retention.
