The Equity, Pathways, and Inclusion (EPI) Division was established in 2020. EPI aims to foster culturally responsive, equity-centered experiences for all members of our community, while identifying and removing barriers to success for historically marginalized groups identified in the Student Equity Plan. By leveraging evidence-based practices, EPI strives to create an environment where equity and inclusion are embedded in every aspect of our institution. As part of this commitment, EPI strategically allocates funding to support equity-driven initiatives across campus, investing in programs, services, and partnerships that promote meaningful, sustained institutional change.
Mission and Vision
To advance the Santa Monica College’s mission, vision, and goals by providing institutional planning and support to develop an integrated infrastructure to reach SMC’s racial equity imperative and student success goals both inside and outside the classroom. We aim to be leaders in equity and inclusion, creating transformative opportunities for a campus community that embraces a rich diverse and global society.
