Eligibility for use
Computer centers (labs) and the on-campus wi-fi network are restricted to students enrolled in the current semester only, with the following exceptions:
- Students enrolled in the previous fall semester may log in to Library computers during winter session.
- Students enrolled in the previous spring semester may log in to Library computers during summer session.

Past, present, and potential SMC students may use the computer area shared by the Office of Admissions and Records and the Welcome Center for SMC:
- admission applications
- course enrollment
- student email
- orientation
- and other College-related functions
Wi-Fi
On-Campus Wi-Fi Network (requires enrollment in current semester)
Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, except during maintenance periods.
NOTE: All SMC campuses are closed between 11:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. unless there are specifically permitted events scheduled with Campus Police.
In-person Computer Lab Hours
- Hours are subject to change without notice. Some computer centers, or part of them, may be reserved by classes.
- All labs are closed on Sundays, SMC holidays, and days when SMC classes are not in session.
- Hours may change during the final exam period.

Virtual Computer Lab
Students enrolled in certain courses are given remote access over the internet from their personal device to a "Virtual Computer Lab" available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, during the semester. The Virtual Computer Lab provides course-required technology resources that the student is not expected to purchase or license privately. If you are in one of these classes, your instructor will tell you.
