The Master Plan for Education is drafted, combining data and insights from the consultants
Kennedy & Co., institutional research, interviews, the ideation sessions, and the
collaborative design workshops. Once finalized, it will be presented to consituency groups, stakeholders, and the
SMC community.
The Master Plan for Education Collaborative Design workshop is held on March 28, 2025,
allowing faculty, staff, and administrators to review the challenges and opportunities
identified in the ideation sessions, and brainstorm, discuss, and propose solutions.

The workgroup is planning problem-solving workshops ("design charettes") for the campus,
where faculty, staff, and administrators can review the challenges and opportunities
identified in the ideation sessions, and brainstorm, discuss, and propose solutions.
A Master Plan for Education session is held on August 22, 2024 Professional Development
Day to provide information and gather feedback from the campus community.
Campus-wide "Ideation Workshop" is held September 27, 2024 with faculty, staff, and
administrators providing input on SMC's strengths, challenges, and opportunities.
An Ideation Survey is opened in October 2024 for all faculty, staff, and administrators
who weren't able to attend the workshop to learn abou the plan details, view the data
walk, and provide their input and feedback.
Workgroup reviews example Master Plans for Education from local colleges.
Plans begin for the Master Plan for Education Ideation workshop to be held in Fall
2024, including creation of a "data walk" of key insights and points from Institutional
Research and Kennedy & Co.
Workgroup membership is finalized with DPAC constituent groups.
