Need a new email and/or network account?
A network account lets you login to campus computers and access restricted web pages.
The same user name/password also accesses email if you request both.
This cannot be done until HR has entered all employment information.

First login after account creation or password reset

Your user name is generally LastName_FirstName. For example smith_john.

If you are a district employee, your initial password would be:
santamonica-####
where santamonica is in lower case, followed by hyphen (or dash), followed by the last four digits of your Social Security number. For Example: santamonica-1234. - For non-district employees, a randomly generated password will be included in the account notification message sent to your personal email address.

The first time you login at https://signon.smc.edu, you will be prompted to go through the on-boarding process and will be required to create a new password.

Passwords must be at least 12 characters long and have at least one upper case letter, one lower case letter and one number.
