FAQ for Grant Application and Submission

In nearly all circumstances, a part-time faculty member at SMC cannot serve as sole project manager/principal investigator for a grant that the college submits. An adjunct faculty member interested in leading a grant initiative at the college must discuss the idea with his/her instructional department and identify a full-time faculty member to serve as co-principal investigator/co-project manager.

No, all grants submitted on behalf of Santa Monica College must be signed and submitted by an authorized organizational representative or his designee.  Authorized Organizational Representatives currently include Dr. Kathryn Jeffery, Superintendent/President, and Erica Leblanc, Dean, Academic Affairs.
