Fixed Assets Management Department and Disaster Emergency Preparedness

The Fixed Assets Management Department has quickly responded to meet the needs of the SMC community during disasters and emergencies. This is made possible by accurate record keeping, the utilization of state-of-the-art technology (The Fixed Assets Module), and supporting teams mindful of students’ success.

  • At the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Fixed Assets Management Department developed and implemented a “Check-In/Check-Out” system in the SMC Fixed Assets Module. This new system ensured the swift deployment of District assets to the SMC community making the transition to e-learning and working remotely, without jeopardizing the integrity and accountability of the Fixed Assets system.
  • We are proud to share that the joint effort of the entire SMC community to safeguard the accuracy of the SMC Fixed Assets Module made it possible for the college to support the State of California’s call to share life support and ventilation equipment during the COVID-19 pandemic.
